Keeping a Gratitude Journal

My journals

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” (Ps 107:8-9)

I’ve written before about my gratitude journal. As a writer, I know it’s important to keep a journal to practice my craft. As a Christian, I know a journal can provide a way for me to look back and see God moving in my life. The Thanksgiving List

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” (Ps 100:4)

This month, the theme of my blog posts revolves around having an attitude of thanksgiving. Over on prestigeprose.com, I’ve written a series of writing prompts to inspire a grateful attitude. This week’s prompt is to write a list of 25 things for which I’m thankful. Family and friends are a given, as is Lilly, so I didn’t include people unless I’m referring to them as a group. Giving Thanks for the Small Things

 

“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thess 5:18)

I carried the container of water to the front of the house, amazed that it was the end of October and still so warm. I poured the water on the pink periwinkles that had spread and taken over the container in which I had planted them. Periwinkles had never grown this well for me before.
