Congratulations to Annette E. from Peoria, AZ, the winner of the blog hop giveaway!
Stocking stuffers have long been a tradition in my family. On Christmas morning, my brother and I would run into the living room to find what Santa had left under the tree. Then, we would turn to our stockings. From toothbrushes to candy to socks to books to gift cards, we always found a treasure trove of goodies. This tradition still continues in adulthood as my parents find fun items to put in our stockings.
This Christmas season, I’m joining The Kids Did It blog and The Mommy Island blog to participate in the Sixth Annual Super Stocking Stuffer Giveaway Hop, which runs from November 10, 2020, to December 1, 2020. The winner will receive a signed copy of Echoes of Joy: A Daily Devotional for Christmas and a $15 Amazon gift card.

Day 2
Developing a Thankful Heart
“…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thess 5:18)
The holiday season seems to get busier each year. With Thanksgiving sandwiched between Halloween and Christmas, it is often overlooked as kids (and adults) go from scaring themselves silly to scrambling to squeeze in time for Thanksgiving festivities before the major Christmas celebration arrives.
As Thanksgiving comes and goes, we forget how much we have to be thankful for because we are already looking past the turkey and trimmings to shop for the perfect present for our kids, practice for the Christmas program, and make Christmas candy to give to the neighbors.
As we move into the Christmas season, we should thank God for the activities of the season. Do you stop to pray for all of those who will be attending an event or performing at a Christmas program? Before heading out the door, say a prayer for the host or hostess as well as those who are giving their time so that you can attend.
Prayer can help change our perspective as we realize there are those who have contributed many hours so that we can be entertained for a night. Through prayer, the Lord can help redirect our thoughts so we focus on the important things and leave the rest behind.
Dear Jesus, change our perspective as we remember to be thankful for those who work to entertain us and make our lives easier throughout the Christmas season. Amen.
